Guys and gals, I've had an inspirational night.
Yeah, the Sounders lost. They put on a great game though - there were so many shots you'da thought it was a basketball game!
I went down to Beveridge Place Pub to watch the game.
Beveridge Place is a beer-lovers bar. They have loads of taps, and they regularly do different beer-y events; from brewers nights to cask festivals to IPApril, they know and love their beer!
They happen to have a very good IPA on tap at the moment. Yes, I'm talking about Flying Bike Fly-PA from Three Skulls!
Anyways, the Sounders lost, I had some beer, etc etc. But what is really cool, like seriously so, is this:
Guys and Gals, we've sort of made it! That's a bona-fide receipt with our co-op's name on it! How cool is that? I haven't felt like this since we first saw the Flying Bike logo - guys, we're pretty legitimate!
(Oh, the 90's. The 90's were pretty much still the 80's. Go ahead and have this one, I'll wait.)
Speaking of Fly-PA, last Thursday night was the Fly-PA launch party. We were out in force at Pillager's Pub - it was packed!
Prior to the event, we had some discussions around what we wanted to do for the party. Should we give a speech? Make any announcements? Anything? Long story short, we ended up not having any big speech or making a big production about it. And what was going on instead was truly awesome.
Members were sitting around tables, hanging out, drinking beer, talking and having a good time. It was so cool! Flying Bike is about the members - if we're doing cool stuff that the members are enjoying, we're on the right track - so far so good! (Killing a keg on opening night is a big plus too!) Folks were sitting around enjoying beer and good company and even convinced a couple people to sign up that very night!
If you haven't had it yet, go try a pint or two (or a growler) of Fly-PA - it's an easy-drinkin' hop party in a glass! It's on at Beveridge Place, Pillager's Pub, and soon at Fiddler's Inn. It will be showing up at other establishments, and we'll be sure to let you know when it does.
We've got to give it up for Pillager's Pub and the great staff there - those guys rule! If you are anywhere near Greenwood, stop on in and enjoy a pint. Don't forget to tip your bartender, and stay tuned for more from your friendly neighborhood cooperative brewery!
