Open House II
Wow. Our membership ROCKS!
On Thursday the 21st of August, we held our 2nd Open House, and I have to tell you the folks that were coming out were electric. And their energy was flowing – and they also brought their checkbooks!
Like the previous Open House, it was a warm summer evening, but we had way more walk-ins (off the street) than before! I personally know we got 2 new members out of these walk-in’s which was tremendous! (Even after the event, walking next door, we were stopped by some other folks that were very excited that we were coming to the neighborhood!).
Personally I must’ve talked to ¾’s of the folks there one-on-one. And many of them were aware of the Co-op, and our investment campaign. Looking around I could see that many of the other board members (Steve, Kevin, Ryan & Melissa) were similarly engaged with folks.
We had our Design renderings on the wall, as well as some poster sized lists of Volunteer Opportunities to help us build out the Brewery in the next few months. (We are looking for tradesmen, contractors, designers, and other creative people to bring our plans to reality – stay tuned for more on this!).
Then Ryan (BOD President) got up and spoke about the urgency of the campaign, our vision for the buildout, and how critical it was to get this funded.
It was quite a night – even though my throat was longing for the cool barley based refreshment offered next door (lovin’ the Double Cross on tap at NC these days), many folks wanted to stay and talk about their Brewery, as well as write checks for the Investment Campaign.
And just today I talked with another Member-Owner that wrote a $2500 investment check to Flying Bike, and he said he always wanted to invest and felt bad because he was a bit of a procrastinator…
But hey, as they say: better Late than Never.
Folks, I think we’re pretty close to the $200K mark at this point. But that puts us only 2/3rds there. So, if you have your hand on your checkbook, go here and download the Disclosure Form (and here for the W9), and make it happen for all of us.
