Please check your calendars, and make sure you can make it in August instead of July. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you can join us.
The Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery runs on volunteers, so we’re putting out the call for help with running the next Homebrew competition.
- Before the event opens:
- Organize the brewery floor (move tables and chairs, set up the pouring station)
- Set up registration/welcome desk to sign in members and guests as they arrive
- Make sure the pitchers and glasses are handy and ready to go, water and spit buckets in place
- Make sure kegs are tapped and pressurized
- Fill pretzel cups and put them on the tables
- Beer Pourers
- Fill pitchers from kegs or bottles in the cold room
- Dispense tastes to the judges
- Do not drink beer while pouring. Take a break, step away from the table. If you want to taste unencumbered by these “rules,” sign up here.
- Sign-in desk
- Check in members who pre-registered, or add names and member numbers for walk-ins. Sign in any guests who will be tasting
- Distribute tasting sheets (mark whether they are a member or not), pens and pencils.
- Distribute tasting glasses
- After the event ends (Start shortly after Last Call)
- Pack up pitchers and empty the spit buckets. Pick up any tasting glasses
- Put tables and chairs back to regular layout
- Get the brewery ready to open at 1:00pm
Please note that Last Call is at 12:45pm, and glasses down promptly at 1:00pm
