Summer will be winding down all too soon, and it’s time to start thinking about Autumn. The Flying Bike Coop Homebrew Competition for this fall will be a Hazy IPA.

All the information is on the form, but here’s a quick overview:
- Hazy IPA is described in the BJCP guide as 21C.
- Submissions may be in Corny kegs or bottles. Suggested amount is at least three gallons. We can provide CO2 for pinlock or ball lock.
- Bring your beers in on Thursday, October 9th. Let the beertender know you’re dropping off a competition beer, and they’ll get it into the cold room.
- Don’t forget to label your kegs/bottles with your member number, and include a party tap for kegs.
- Pick up your kegs/bottles as soon after the competition as possible – the cold room is pretty much full up with beers on tap.
Judging/volunteer signups are not yet open, but here’s the skinny –
- Check back next month (September – already!) for when signups go live
- The first day of judging will be on the same day as the October Members’ Meeting on the 11th, so exact start time is a little bit TBD right now. Sunday will be from 11am – 1pm, as usual.
- Please sign up if you intend to participate. Setting up the brewery for the event is non-trivial, so if nobody signs up, we may decide to cancel.
- Advance signups close COB on Thursday, October 9th.
We need volunteers to set up the brewery, dispense beer to the judges, and get the brewery back in shape to open to the public.
